Nature Fun for Little Ones

Nature Fun for the Little Ones is designed for 3-5 year olds. Our Nature Center staff offer fun activities for this monthly class. The theme for August is COLORS. Little ones will participate in a fun activity that teaches them about the colors we see in nature.

Prairie Hike

Aug 11th at 7 pm. Learn fun facts about prairies and why they are important. Wear good walking shoes and bring bug spray. Long pants are also recommended. Meet up at the dog park parking lot.

Tie Dye T-shirts

August 1st class- register here

August 8th class- register here

1:30 – 3:00 PM. Open to all age groups. Bring a white or pastel, pre-washed T-shirt, and apply one of five different tie-dye design patterns. Class is FREE but registration is required.

Hoo Haven Campfire

Sit around the campfire and enjoy s’mores and learn about some fascinating birds! Hoo Haven will be bringing live birds and discussing their habitat, diet, size, life expectancy, and more.

All of the events are FREE and open to the public except as indicated.

Environmental Education:

Environmental education classes are available for students of all ages. Classes are designed to provide students with structured, hand-on learning that promotes a better understanding of the natural world and strengthens positive environmental values.

We invite you to schedule a whole or half day visit. Please provide a minimum 3 weeks advance notice prior to the date you wish to reserve. Our naturalist will work with your to choose the activities and curriculum that best fit your needs. Call the Nature Center at 815-288-5209
